BOOKS by John Lawrence Maerz
TAROT:THE ASTROLOGICAL LAYOUT
This book is an innovative approach utilizing the Tarot cards, the astrological signs and houses and the vibration of numbers. Each house represents a specific set of personal issues and circumstances particular to each area of life such as relationships, traditions, career and more. Each of the face cards corresponds to an astrological sign. And the numbers give an overall “flavor” and direction for the interpretation to take. This method allows you to separate the issues with clarity in a way that the Celtic cross and other layouts can’t. Timing is established through the separate layers and any person in your client’s life can be found simply by counting to the appropriate house then simply reading the wheel as a new client. Learning this method will provide tremendous dimension and insight for your readings. 2nd Edition. Paperback 132 pages - 2015 - ISBN 978-0986436444 $15.95
Review from Peter-
"The book is logical, well structured, and easily understood if read with focus and attention. Of course, proper assimilation of the material will require extensive memory work, depending on your background knowledge. Mr. Maerz gives a very short basic definition for each of the 78 cards, both Upright and Inverted. And then you can add more meanings to the cards once they are dealt out on the Houses - he explains how. Also, this book contains the best translation of the Court Cards to their astrological equivalents that I have ever seen. Finally!
There is also a brief explanation on numerology with respect to the pip (numbered) cards and the numbers corresponding to the Major Arcana cards, which is quite sufficient for The Astrological Layout purposes.
In my opinion, once you have adopted and feel comfortable using Mr. Maerz's Astrological Layout, you will not want to go back to the Celtic Cross Spread again. The depth and breadth of information you can obtain from The Astrological Layout, especially using Mr. Maerz's three-layer spread, is so much greater than what you are able to extract from the Celtic Cross, that this will make the already irrational, although very popular, Celtic Cross laughable."

The Application of Energy Within the Natural Cycle
In nature a river is a symbol of life. It moves following the natural laws of gravity and motion following the path of least resistance. When we are relaxed and allow the current to carry us, we follow the same pattern of travel. However, humans are not known for being relaxed and passive. Some of us will even be stupid enough to swim against the current. Life is exactly the same. Despite the fact that we feel the currents, we still create difficulties and wear ourselves out by swimming against the current because we don't understand the dynamics of how energies flow in our natural cycle. Utilizing the combination of Moon phases, the I-Ching, Pagan holidays and Astrology, this book will help you recognize the natural patterns of ebb and flow in our lives so we may foresee natural shifts in our perspective and focus and have a clearer understanding of how to prepare for what comes next. Review by Barbara- "Thanks to Goodreads First Reads for a copy of this amazing book. It's easy to read and understand. The chapters are well constructed, with exercises in which the reader can partake. This book made me think, and I appreciated it."
Review by John -"What an interesting book that is very well written and easy to follow and read. I gave it to both my young adult children to read and I have to say that I have already noticed them practicing some of the steps. There is a noticeable change in a really wonderful way in both of them. Thanks John! I won this great book on GoodReads and like I do with most my wins I will be paying it forward by giving my win either to a friend or library to enjoy."
Review by John -"I only read this book as John and I are fellow published authors and I consider him a friend. To my amazement, the book was very helpful for me. It made me realize how great I was, what I am now and how I could be great again. No matter who you are and where you are in your life, you should read this book. You may think you don't need it now, but you will remember what it says when you need it. Thanks John!"
A MILE IN YOUR SHOES:
The Road to Self-Actualization Through Compassion
Our approach to life is profoundly affected by the intentions and directions of our parenting and caretakers, often with catastrophic results. The career not taken, the marriage not consummated are only two choices colored by the emotional distortions we might have come to believe about ourselves as a result of having faith and trust in the wisdom and omniscience we attributed to our parents and caretakers in our formative years. The “sins of the father” is a dominant theme leading to the necessity of our removing the biblical “mote in our eye” before we are able to clearly see enough to learn compassion and be willing to grace others with the love and acceptance we might have missed as children. What if we were raised with love and acceptance for who we were not who we were supposed to be? Understand what might have led us to feel shame and create the shadow that led us to doubt ourselves while building the courage, motivation and confidence in creating a fuller and more rewarding life.
